About 2 minutes • No obligation • Reviewed by a moving professional

Tell us about your move

Answer a few quick, visual questions about your journey, belongings and property access. We'll give you an immediate rough estimate, then a Homeward moving professional will review the details.

Takes approximately 2–3 minutes

Charged at $180 per hour plus the applicable call-out fee. Your estimated range may change after we review the route, inventory, access and special requirements.

How estimates work

Every move is different

The time and cost of a move depend on more than the number of bedrooms. We consider the complete journey, then a moving professional reviews the details before your estimate is confirmed.

$180per hour
  • 2-hour minimum booking
  • Prices shown exclude GST
  • A rough estimate first, always reviewed by a person

What shapes your estimate

  • Furniture volume

The amount and size of your furniture determines the truck space and labour required.

  • Pickup & delivery access

Ground floor, stairs, lifts and parking at both properties shape how the move is planned.

  • Travel time

The distance between properties and any additional stops affects travel and call-out.

  • Stairs, lifts & carrying distance

Flights of stairs, lift bookings and the walk from your door to the truck all add time.

  • Packing, wrapping & assembly

Optional packing, protective wrapping and furniture dismantling or reassembly.

Give furniture another home

Suitable unwanted furniture may be directed to charity or community partners.

Our purpose

Moving homes. Helping others.

Moving often reveals furniture that no longer suits its current home but may still be useful to someone else. Where condition, demand and partner acceptance allow, Homeward can help direct suitable unwanted furniture toward participating charities and community organisations.

We move your home

Everything is planned, protected and transported with genuine care from door to door.

We assess suitable items

Furniture you no longer need is checked for condition, demand and partner requirements.

It finds another home

Where a partner can accept it, quality furniture is directed to a charity or community organisation.

Items are subject to inspection and acceptance is never guaranteed. We don't describe unusable items as donations, and we make no claims we can't stand behind.

  • Entirely optional
  • Assessed before moving day
  • Subject to item condition
  • Subject to partner capacity

Interstate removals

Moving between states, planned properly

Longer moves deserve a considered plan. We assess each interstate move on its own terms — route, volume, access and timing — and protect your belongings for the distance ahead.

  • Assessed individually by route, volume and timing
  • Local loading and unloading labour estimated up front
  • Interstate transport confirmed after review
  • Careful protection for the longer journey

FAQ

Questions, answered honestly

We use your move size and furnishing density for a base labour range, then adjust for access — stairs, lifts, parking, carrying distance — and any heavy or special items. Labour is charged at $180 per hour with a 2-hour minimum, and prices exclude GST. The figure you see is a rough starting range, not a fixed quote.

The estimate is based on the answers you give. If the inventory, route, parking, access, stairs, lifts, special items or requested services differ on the day, the final amount can change. A moving professional reviews every enquiry before anything is confirmed.

The hourly rate for local moves is $180 per hour, with a 2-hour minimum and prices excluding GST. The specific crew and vehicle for your move are confirmed with you during review, so we don't state inclusions here that we haven't confirmed for your job.

A call-out fee applies in addition to the hourly labour and is confirmed with you during review. Because it depends on your route and requirements, we don’t display a figure that hasn’t been confirmed for your move — which is why the calculator shows the labour range separately.

Yes. Stairs, lift access and booking restrictions, parking availability and the distance from your door to the truck all affect how long a move takes, so they are part of how we prepare your estimate.

Yes. Furniture dismantling and reassembly are available when required — for example flat-pack items, bed frames and larger pieces. Let us know while planning your move and we’ll include it.

Yes. Mattress wrapping and protective covers are available when required, alongside protective moving blankets for your furniture.

Yes. Homeward reusable moving bags can be supplied as part of your move when required, making packing bulky household items easier while reducing reliance on disposable materials. You can request a quantity while planning your move.

Yes. Interstate moves are assessed individually. We can estimate the local loading and unloading labour up front, while the interstate transport component is confirmed separately after we review your route.

It is entirely optional. If you have quality furniture you no longer need, mention it while planning your move. When items are suitable and a charity or community partner can accept them, we can help coordinate their next step. It is assessed before moving day and subject to item condition and partner capacity.
